IR-565: Cavity Blackbody Source

Cavity Blackbody Source

The IR-565 is much like the IR-564 with cavity materials of Silicon Carbide and high purity Alumina ceramics. The IR-565 is unique in that it is enclosed in a new rectangular housing. This new square type housing allows an optical height of 3.75 inches vs. 6.0 inches of the round IR-563/564 series. This was designed for compatibility for some existing optical systems requiring a shorter height. It does not include an aperture wheel as standard, but optional wheel is available.

The 20° tapered - recessed - cone, surface emissivity, and cavity aspect ratio combine to provide blackbody radiation by multiple reflection, absorption and re-emission of its thermal energy. The thermal energy of the cavity is provided by a ceramic-sealed heater coil that uniformly heats the cavity cylinder to temperatures from 50° C to 1200°C. The IR-565 system has a full, one-year warranty.
